Glassine paper for food packaging. Like paraffin wax paper for food use, calendered glassine paper, which is moisture-resistant, is an ideal product in the dairy industry for wrapping and packaging aged cheeses and in the confectionery industry for the production of semi-finished goods for baking and pastry making. Thanks to its unique characteristics, it is also an essential material for florists and nurseries that require liquid-resistant packaging when wrapping plants, flowers, and seedlings. Calendered paper (also known as glassine paper) can be supplied in its natural glossy white shade or in a colored ochre yellow version.
Glassine paper is used for food applications, adhesive labels, and, in some cases, as an alternative to plastic for transparent windows in envelopes. Its smooth surface and translucency give it an aesthetically pleasing appearance, making it a popular choice for archival preservation as well as arts and crafts. Additionally, it is particularly suitable for packaging in the mechanical industry, where it is used to wrap small metal parts and protect greased and lubricated mechanical components.
